Core role requirements:

• The Materials Engineer will be responsible for all matters relating to quality assurance of specified materials in the design and construction tasks.
• Providing quality assurance of the trial sections performed by the Contractor.
• Providing all field laboratory testing and quality assurance/quality control during construction and definitions of design parameters of all construction materials.
• Validating the final IRI measurements on the completed road sections in conformance with the relevant ASTM procedure.
  
  
  

Qualifications and Experience: -

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• At least fifteen (15) years’ experience with at least two (2) similar road projects managing materials testing QA/QC programs on road construction projects.
• The candidate must also demonstrate 5 years’ experience in
• a) Training of lab technicians;
• b) Calibration of lab equipment;
• c) Management and implementation of a document management system for lab testing results;
• d) Management of non-conformities.
• Materials testing experience shall include:
• a) Cement stabilization testing;
• b) Testing on soils and crushed rock materials;
• c) Mix design of Superpave asphalts;
• Field testing experience in the measurement of IRI to relevant standards and deflection measurements is required.
