Job Overview:


The Outbound Tour Consultant is responsible for designing, organizing, and selling outbound tour packages for clients looking to travel abroad. The consultant will work closely with clients to understand their travel preferences, budgets, and expectations, and will utilize their extensive knowledge of international destinations to create memorable travel experiences. This role requires excellent communication, customer service, and sales skills, as well as a strong understanding of the travel industry.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Engage with clients to determine their travel requirements, preferences, and budgets for outbound tours.
  2. Research and identify suitable international destinations, accommodations, and activities that align with clients' interests and needs.
  3. Develop customized travel itineraries, incorporating flights, accommodation, ground transportation, tours, and activities.
  4. Provide clients with detailed travel plans, including costs, timelines, and relevant documentation, such as visa requirements and travel insurance options.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel trends, destination highlights, and industry regulations to provide clients with accurate and relevant information.
  6. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, including airlines, hotels, and tour operators, to negotiate the best deals for clients.
  7. Utilize strong sales skills to promote and sell outbound tour packages, meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  8. Provide exceptional customer service by responding to clients' questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  9. Collaborate with colleagues and management to share insights, knowledge, and best practices, contributing to the overall success of the company.
  10. Attend industry events, conferences, and familiarization trips as needed to stay current on trends and developments within the outbound tourism sector.


Requirements:


  1. A bachelor's degree in tourism, hospitality, or a related field is preferred, though relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  2. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the travel industry, preferably in a sales or consultancy role.
  3. Strong knowledge of international travel destinations, including popular tourist attractions, accommodations, and activities.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and suppliers.
  5. Strong sales skills, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  6. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  7. Proficient in the use of travel-related software and technology, such as Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  8. Familiarity with relevant travel regulations, visa requirements, and industry standards.
  9. A passion for travel and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  10. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed, to accommodate clients' schedules.
