Job Title: AccountantOverview
The Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial stability and integrity of the organization. This position is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reports that support strategic decision-making. Accountants work closely with other departments to budget, forecast, and provide insights on financial performance. With a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of financial principles, the Accountant ensures that all transactions and reports are accurate and timely. This role is vital for maintaining the financial health of the organization, and it involves interacting with various stakeholders to communicate financial information clearly and effectively. Candidates must possess strong analytical abilities, a solid understanding of financial software, and the capacity to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review purchase bills for accuracy and completeness,
- Process invoices, VAT returns, requisitions, and purchase orders,
- Maintain files of contracts, warranties, insurance policies,
- Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
- Updating and maintaining the monthly VAT record, ensure timely bank payments,
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns, updating the daily ledger
- Handle and reconcile accounts payable and receivable,
- Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis
- Managing income and expenditure accounts
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Execute accounts payable and receivable processes to maintain streamlined financial operations.
- Conduct monthly and yearly closings in accordance with deadlines.
- Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor financial transactions and ensure they comply with internal policies.
- Assist in the budgeting process and prepare financial forecasts.
- Good knowledge of book keeping and tax accounting
- Should be knowledge on financial control and cash management
- Experience with accounting software and data entry
- Graduate in commerce field, minimum 2 to 3 years of experience,
- Good skill to operate computer, MS Excel, MS Word,
- Excellent knowledge of taxation and Govt. tax rules of the country,
- Should be flexible, result oriented & ability to handle pressure,
- Must have valid driving license and two wheelers
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent mathematical skills and ability to perform complex calculations.
- Experience with preparing and reviewing financial statements.
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail with high accuracy in work outputs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Strong time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
- Commitment to continuing professional education and development.
- Possession of CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
