Job Description

Health Services

  • Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff.
  • Manage chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies) according to individual health plans.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and maintain proper records.

Health Records & Monitoring

  • Maintain up-to-date medical records of all students.
  • Track immunizations and follow government/education board health requirements.
  • Monitor and document health incidents, accidents, and treatments.

Health Promotion & Education

  • Conduct health awareness sessions (e.g., hygiene, nutrition, mental health).
  • Educate staff on handling common health issues and emergencies.

Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with parents/guardians regarding student health issues.
  • Coordinate with local hospitals/clinics for referrals and emergencies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff on health-related concerns.

School Health Environment

  • Ensure the school infirmary is equipped and hygienic.
  • Conduct regular health and safety inspections (canteen, sanitation, classrooms).
Job Specification

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse).
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR (mandatory).

Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience (experience in pediatrics, public health, or school setting preferred).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong clinical and first-aid skills.
  • Good communication and counseling skills.
  • Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of child development and adolescent health issues.
  • Record-keeping and reporting skills.
  • Teamwork and collaboration with staff, students, and parents.
