Job Description
Health Services
- Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff.
- Manage chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies) according to individual health plans.
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain proper records.
Health Records & Monitoring
- Maintain up-to-date medical records of all students.
- Track immunizations and follow government/education board health requirements.
- Monitor and document health incidents, accidents, and treatments.
Health Promotion & Education
- Conduct health awareness sessions (e.g., hygiene, nutrition, mental health).
- Educate staff on handling common health issues and emergencies.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with parents/guardians regarding student health issues.
- Coordinate with local hospitals/clinics for referrals and emergencies.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff on health-related concerns.
School Health Environment
- Ensure the school infirmary is equipped and hygienic.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections (canteen, sanitation, classrooms).
Job Specification
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Nursing (Registered Nurse).
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (mandatory).
Experience:
- Minimum 1–2 years of nursing experience (experience in pediatrics, public health, or school setting preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong clinical and first-aid skills.
- Good communication and counseling skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Knowledge of child development and adolescent health issues.
- Record-keeping and reporting skills.
