Job Description
The System Administrative Assistant supports the System Administrative Officer and the administrative department in managing organizational documentation, providing basic IT and system support, and assisting with general administrative tasks. This role ensures that documentation is organized, systems are maintained, and users receive timely assistance with technical issues. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn.
Roles and Responsibilities
System Support
- Assist in installing and configuring operating systems under supervision.
- Monitor basic system performance and escalate issues as needed.
- Perform routine backups and verify data storage integrity.
- Document basic system procedures and configurations for reference.
Network Assistance
- Support the setup and maintenance of network equipment such as routers and switches.
- Help monitor network connectivity and report issues to the officer.
- Assist in implementing basic network security measures.
Software Support
- Install and update standard software applications as instructed.
- Assist users with basic software-related issues.
- Maintain software inventory records.
User Support
- Respond to basic IT inquiries and escalate complex issues.
- Assist with setting up user accounts, email access, and equipment.
- Provide basic training to users on common system and software functions.
- Maintain inventory of IT hardware and peripherals.
Security & Data Protection
- Follow security protocols for data handling and system use.
- Assist in monitoring for potential breaches.
- Help apply updates and patches as directed.
Job Specification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or final year student with relevant internship experience).
- 1+ year of experience in an administrative or IT support role (internship included).
- Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and software applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details
