Job Description
- Set up equipment for students and instructors.
- Be familiar with fire and emergency procedures including the roles required of a technician within this.
- Provide equipment and materials to support practical teaching.
- Ensure, together with teaching staff, that laboratories are locked when teachers are not present and that students do not have unsupervised access to laboratories, prep rooms or science equipment.
- Ensure adequate stocks in the laboratories and maintaining inventory record.
- Assist with preparation for lecture demonstrations as appropriate.
- Recommend and/or perform maintenance or repairs of equipment in the laboratories.
- Participate in and contribute to a safe environment in the Laboratory by preparing Health and Safety guidelines needed within the laboratory.
- Participate in and contribute to the achievement of the Laboratory, Departmental and College goals through other related duties
- Carry out other duties assigned as per the need of the institution
Job Specification
- Minimum of 2 years experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
