Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Computer Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching computer science concepts, digital literacy, programming, and technology integration to students, ensuring they gain strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging computer science lessons in line with the school curriculum
- Teach topics such as basic computing, programming (e.g., Python, Scratch, HTML/CSS), MS Office tools, and internet safety
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and practical projects
- Maintain an inclusive, student-friendly classroom environment
- Provide support and guidance to students on computer-related queries
- Encourage student participation in tech-related activities, clubs, and competitions
- Keep up to date with advancements in IT education and update teaching materials accordingly
- Manage computer lab resources and ensure proper maintenance of systems
- Collaborate with academic staff to integrate technology into other subject areas where applicable
Job Specification
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Teaching certification or license (preferred but not mandatory)
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a school or educational institution
- Prior experience in handling both theoretical and practical sessions
Technical Skills:
- Sound knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C, Scratch)
- Familiarity with basic web development (HTML, CSS, JS is a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals
- Comfortable with digital learning tools and platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, MS Teams)
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a student-centric teaching approach
- Ability to manage classrooms effectively and maintain discipline
