Reports to : District Lead
Duration : Fixed term until December 2026 with the possibility of extension, subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding
ROLE SUMMARY
The School Mobilizer (SM) is responsible for providing field-level support to UWS Nepal supported schools within the assigned cluster. Working under the guidance of the District Lead, the SM serves as the key liaison between schools, communities, and UWS Nepal. The role focuses on supporting the effective implementation of education programmes, strengthening communication and coordination with concerned school stakeholders, collecting and maintaining school data, supporting the use of educational resources and digital tools, and promoting child protection, safeguarding, and inclusive education practices. The SM works collaboratively with schools to identify needs, facilitate support, and strengthen programme implementation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. School Support and Programme Implementation
- Conduct regular visits to assigned schools and maintain positive working relationships with school leadership, teachers, and stakeholders.
- Support schools in the implementation of UWS education programmes, activities, and initiatives.
- Assist schools in the utilization of educational resources, learning materials, and programme tools provided by UWS Nepal.
- Identify challenges affecting programme implementation and communicate them to the District Lead for need-based support and follow-up.
- Support schools during assessments, events, campaigns,training, and other educational activities as required.
2. Data Collection, Documentation and Reporting
- Collect, verify, and maintain school-level data as required by UWS Nepal, including student attendance, enrollment information, assessment, training records, meeting minutes, and other relevant documents.
- Maintain accurate records of school visits, activities, observations, and stakeholder engagements.
- Support schools in completing required reporting formats and documentation.
- Submit timely reports and updates to the District Lead according to established reporting schedules.
- Ensure confidentiality and safe handling of student and school information.
3. Teacher and School Capacity Support
- Facilitate communication between teachers, schools, and theDistrict Lead regarding professional development activities.
- Support classroom observation processes led by the District Lead and assist with follow-up actions when required.
- Encourage participation in teacher training, mentoring, and professional learning opportunities organized by UWS Nepal.
- Share relevant educational resources, guidance, and information with teachers as directed by the District Lead.
4. Community Engagement and Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain regular communication with School Management Committees (SMCs), Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs), Mothers’ Groups, Child Clubs, School Retention Team, and community
stakeholders. - Support schools in strengthening parent and community engagement in children’s education.
- Follow up with families of students identified by schools as having attendance or participation concerns.
5. Child Protection, Safeguarding and Inclusion
- Promote awareness and implementation of UWS Nepal’s Child Protection, Safeguarding, and Inclusion Policies at the school level.
- Immediately report child protection or safeguarding concerns through established organizational reporting mechanisms.
- Support the identification and referral of children who may require additional support or protection services.
- Assist in maintaining records related to safeguarding cases in accordance with confidentiality requirements.
- Promote inclusive practices that support the participation of all learners regardless of gender, disability, ethnicity, language, or socio-economic background.
6. Coordination and Other Responsibilities
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, planning workshops, and review meetings.
- Foster positive relationships with local government representatives and education stakeholders.
- Carry out other education-related duties assigned by the District Lead that are consistent with the purpose of the role.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES
- At least intermediate level (10+2) in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or relate field(s).
- Minimum of 1 year’s working experience with schools, communities, educational projects, or development programmes.
- Understanding of Nepal’s education system and local education governance structures, including SMCs and PTAs.
- Good understanding of child protection and safeguarding.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with school and community stakeholders.
- Experience in data collection, documentation, and report preparation.
- Basic digital literacy and ability to use mobile applications, databases, spreadsheets, and online reporting systems.
- Ability to travel regularly to assigned cluster schools.
- Good problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Fluency in Nepali, working knowledge of English is an asset
