Job Description

Position Title: Program Coordinator
Organization: Ujyalo Foundation
Location: Kathmandu, Nepal (with travel as required)
Duration: 2 years
Reporting to: Program Manager / Executive Director

1. Background

Ujyalo Foundation is a feminist organization committed to advancing gender equality, inclusive leadership, and social justice through leadership development, research, advocacy, and community engagement.
The Foundation’s Feminist Leadership Institutes are flagship programs designed to equip individuals with the skills, knowledge, and networks to lead change in their communities and beyond. These programs emphasize
rights-based, intersectional, and inclusive approaches to leadership.

2. Purpose of the Role

The Program Coordinator will lead the coordination and implementation of Ujyalo Foundation’s leadership programs, with a strong focus on session planning, fellow engagement, and alumni network building.
The role will also support monitoring, documentation, and storytelling to ensure that program learning and community impact are captured and strengthened over time.

3. Key Responsibilities

A. Program Coordination and Implementation

  •  Lead day-to-day coordination and implementation of Feminist Leadership Institutes

  •  Develop and manage program timelines, schedules, and logistics

  • Coordinate residential modules, workshops, and learning sessions

  •  Liaise with facilitators, speakers, and resource persons

  •  Ensure smooth execution of all program activities

B. Session Planning and Learning Design

  •  Support the design and planning of program sessions in line with feminist and rights-based frameworks

  •  Work closely with facilitators to prepare session plans, materials, and learning tools

  •  Ensure sessions are participatory, inclusive, and aligned with program objectives

  •  Contribute to refining and evolving the curriculum based on feedback and learning

C. Fellow and Alumni Engagement

Ujyalo Foundation

  •  Serve as the primary point of contact for fellows throughout the program

  •  Build and maintain meaningful relationships with fellows and alumni

  •  Support the creation and strengthening of alumni networks and engagement platforms

  •  Design and facilitate alumni engagement activities (meetings, check-ins, collaborative spaces)

  •  Track fellow journeys and continued engagement beyond the program

D. Monitoring, Documentation, and Learning

  •  Support monitoring of program progress, participation, and outcomes

  •  Collect and document qualitative and quantitative data from program activities

  • Develop testimonials, case stories, and impact narratives from fellows and alumni

  • Archive community insights and program learning through structured documentation methods

  •  Contribute to periodic learning reflections and program reviews

E. Writing and Reporting

  •  Prepare donor reports, internal reports, and program updates

  • Support the development of concept notes and program proposals

  • Produce documentation outputs, including case studies, reflection pieces, and summaries

  • Ensure timely and high-quality reporting across program activities

F. Coordination and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure quality and consistency across program delivery and documentation

  •  Maintain organized records of program materials, participant data, and outputs

  •  Coordinate with internal teams (program, communications, finance) for smooth implementation

G. Field Engagement and Travel

  •  Travel within Nepal to support program implementation, fellow engagement, and documentation

  •  Support coordination of activities at the community and provincial levels

4. Deliverables

  •  Successful implementation of Feminist Leadership Institutes

  • Session plans and program schedules

  • Fellow and alumni engagement activities and tracking

  •  Program reports and donor reports

  •  Testimonials, case stories, and documentation outputs

  •  Organized archive of program learning and materials

5. Qualifications and Experience

  •  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field

Ujyalo Foundation

  •  3–5 years of experience in program coordination, preferably in leadership development or social justice
    programs

  •  Experience working with youth, feminist networks, or community-based initiatives

  •  Strong facilitation and coordination skills

  •  Experience in documentation, storytelling, and report writing
