Job Description
The Store Keeper will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and issuing items efficiently and accurately. This role demands a person with strong inventory management capabilities, basic accounting knowledge, and familiarity with MIS systems to maintain accurate records and ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain proper records of incoming and outgoing inventory using MIS software.
- Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded in both physical registers and digital platforms.
- Perform regular stock audits and maintain stock levels as per company policy.
- Coordinate with procurement and accounting departments for purchase and issue of materials.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports and submit to management.
- Implement and follow proper inventory management practices (FIFO, LIFO, etc.).
- Handle data entry and documentation related to inventory using Microsoft Office tools.
- Track product movements and maintain proper labeling and storage practices.
Job Specification
Education:
- Minimum +2 (Intermediate) in Management or Commerce; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in storekeeping or inventory management (preferred).
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles relevant to inventory.
- Familiarity with inventory input/output systems and management techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Experience in using MIS or inventory management software.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
