Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This includes financial reporting, maintaining general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
- Coordinate audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements.
- Assist with tax filings and liaise with external auditors and consultants.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Perform variance analysis and assist in strategic planning.
