Job Description
Position Overview:
The Hotel Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel to ensure guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, profitability, and a high standard of service. This leadership role involves managing staff, budgeting, marketing strategies, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hospitality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of all hotel departments including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and sales.
- Ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction by maintaining service quality, handling complaints professionally, and improving guest experiences.
- Develop and execute operational strategies to meet revenue, occupancy, and profitability targets.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate hotel staff; foster a positive work culture and ensure teamwork.
- Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost control measures.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, health, and safety regulations as well as industry standards.
- Monitor room bookings, sales performance, and customer feedback; implement improvements accordingly.
- Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to promote the hotel and increase bookings.
- Oversee inventory management, supplier relationships, and procurement of hotel supplies.
- Maintain the hotel’s assets and infrastructure by coordinating with the maintenance team.
Job Specification
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or certification in hospitality management is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in hotel operations, guest services, and team leadership is essential.
- Experience in managing boutique hotels, resorts, or chain properties is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Sound knowledge of hotel management software (e.g., Opera, eZee, Cloudbeds, or similar).
- Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, analyze financial reports, and drive profitability.
- Marketing and sales awareness with the ability to drive bookings and occupancy.
- Crisis management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
