Job Summary:

Database Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and administration of MS SQL server database infrastructure and dependent systems. The DBA acts as the primary technical resource for database integrity, backup/ restoration, and performance monitoring. He/She actively contributes to maintain a good team spirit and quality team work. He/ She is responsible for delivering quality results on the projects, and in a timely and effective manner.

Job Responsibilities:

• Administers, monitors, maintains, upgrades and troubleshoots existing database infrastructure across development, testing and production database environments
• Designs, implements and improves new database infrastructure components, applications, interfaces, replications and stored procedures
• Develops, documents and maintains enterprise best practices standards and procedures for database creation, upgrades, patches, backups, restoration, replication, index maintenance, tuning, monitoring, alerting and security
• Establishes and maintains security and access controls for database systems, applications, data, indexes, database services and replication packages
• Experience with managing data integrity and replication, monitoring database health and security, tuning database objects, ETL systems and storage capacity planning is required
• Designs, implements and maintains high availability database architecture
• Creates and maintains documentation for databases, database infrastructure and database processes and procedures

Job Specification

Basic requirements:

• Education: Bachelor in Computer Science (BE/B TECH, MCA or equivalent); Master degree in Computer Science is a big plus;
• Demonstrated minimum 3 years of experience administering MS SQL Server database in an enterprise environment
• Expert knowledge MS SQL 2005/2008/2008 R2/2012/2014/2016
• Knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse concepts, MS SQL Server enterprise database administration standards, processes and procedures
• Familiarity with MS development technologies, C#, ASP.NET and web technologies, HTML, Javascript, CSS, XML, etc. is highly desirable.
• Understands the benefits of the various programming languages;
• Significant knowledge of client server and internet systems architectures;
• Understand the benefits of the various design methodologies and object oriented environments and object oriented design.
• Able to deal handle sensitive information and to communicate tactfully.
