Job Description

• Conduct thorough research to identify newsworthy topics and story ideas.
• Pitch story ideas to editors and collaborate with them to develop story angles and approaches.
• Conduct interviews with sources, experts, and stakeholders to gather information and quotes for articles.
• Write clear, concise, and engaging articles that adhere to journalistic standards and editorial guidelines.
• Verify the accuracy of information through fact-checking and corroborating sources.
• Utilize multimedia elements such as photos, videos, and graphics to enhance storytelling.
• Stay updated on current events, trends, and developments in relevant subject areas.
• Attend events, press conferences, and other gatherings to gather news and information.
• Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and other team members to produce multimedia content.
• Adapt content for various platforms including print, online, social media, and video.

Job Specification

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, or a Related Field.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling and accurate stories under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in AP style or other journalistic writing standards.
• Excellent research and interviewing skills, with the ability to uncover unique angles and perspectives.
• Knowledge of media law and ethics, including libel, defamation, and privacy laws.
• Experience with digital media tools and platforms, including content management systems and social media.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and fairness in reporting.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced news environment.
