Job Description
The Chef will be responsible for preparing and assembling sandwiches and other menu items according to the Sandwich Hub’s standards. The role includes maintaining hygiene, managing online and in-store orders, and handling basic billing. The ideal candidate must be efficient, customer-friendly, and able to communicate in English for smooth coordination with team members and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare sandwiches and other menu items as per standard recipes.
- Manage and execute online food orders with accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and workstation.
- Operate the billing system and generate invoices for customer orders.
- Communicate clearly with customers and team in English, both in person and via phone/apps.
- Perform basic math functions for accurate billing and inventory handling.
- Follow safety and sanitation policies at all times.
- Assist in stock management and daily kitchen closing activities.
Job Specification
Qualifications:
- Minimum SLC/SEE or equivalent preferred.
- Certification in Culinary Arts is a plus (not mandatory).
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a kitchen or fast-food environment.
- Prior experience in sandwich or quick-service food preparation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with billing systems and online order platforms (e.g., Bhoj, Foodmandu, Pathao, etc.).
Skills:
- Proficient in English (spoken and basic written).
- Basic math skills for billing and portion control.
- Ability to operate POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Multitasking and time-management skills, especially during peak hours.
- Strong sense of hygiene and food safety practices.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Working Conditions:
- Night shift (3:00 PM to 12:00 AM).
- Fast-paced kitchen environment.
