CONSULTING CIVIL ENGINEER- 1 

( CONSULTATION) 

SCOPE OF WORK: 

• Technical site survey 
• Preliminary design drawing and approval from client 
• Supervision of civil works 
• Final as built drawing’ 
• Bill of Quantities ( Cost Estimation) 
• Completion Report. 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

• Responsible for  technical assessment and appraisal of pre-feasibility/verification and  detail feasibility study reports of the working site. 
• Maintain pipeline of projects in different stages, 
• Monitor under construction projects, conduct testing and commissioning, and  guarantee check. 
• Monitoring site activities throughout the different phases of construction, inspecting the completed work and signing everything off with the expert seal of approval. 
• Test run and service as needed by the employer.  
• Monitor Civil works in different stages 
• Responsible for construction of RCC reservoir; 
• Responsible for coordinating with WUA for excavation and filling of main delivery line, distribution line and outlets 
• Perform technical assessment and appraisal of feasibility study report,  
• Support in consultant/company selection for studies and installation,  
• Prepare project drawings 
• Responsible for preparing bill of quantity (BOQ) 

Responsibility of the Job 

• Assess the potential risks of specific projects, as well as undertake risk management in specialist roles. 
• Manage, supervise and visit contractors on site and advise 
• Compile, check and approve reports 
• Monitoring projects in different stages. 
• Correct any project deficiencies that affect production, quality and safety requirements before final evaluation and project reviews. 
• Ensure that a project runs smoothly and that the structure is completed on time and within budget. 
• Manage budgets and other project resources. 
• Undertake technical and feasibility studies and site investigations 

COMPETENCY REQUIRED: 

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or any other equivalent degree 
• 3 years of work experience in construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure. 
• At least 2 years of work experience as a consulting civil engineer. 
• Able to communicate and liaise effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients 
• Good knowledge in AutoCAD and other design tools 
• Adaptable, as the client may change their mind about the design, and ensure relevant parties are notified of changes in the  project. 
• Able to oversee the work of junior staff, or mentor civil engineers.
