Job Description
- To develop teachers and local education/school authorities capacity on Sign languages to increase educational access of children with hearing impairment into formal education.
Job Specification
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in social science/ Education/ Management or relevant field of study.
- Two years of experience as sign language teacher or teaching.
Experience:
- Knowledge and experience in working both at grassroots level
- Willingness to share his/her skills with colleagues in a professional but sensitive manner
- Previous experiences of working in the field of disability and inclusion
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to frequently travel
- Able to accommodate in diverse socio-economic, and multicultural context
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working with/as volunteer.
- Ability to understand and speak local language of the district/community.

Allowance
As a VSO volunteer, you will be sharing your skills with local communities on a full time basis. VSO will cover your travel, vaccinations, accommodation, and medical insurance costs, along with a local living allowance which will be paid in local currency. This allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home. You will also receive some financial support to contribute to your on-going expenses at home.
Accommodation
VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
