Job Description

Purpose

This position is the overall management of one or multiple moderate-sized projects.

Overall and complete management requires a person to be able to complete all the tasks from the planning stage to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation and when necessary the termination of a project. A person in the position will be responsible to manage one or multiple projects that come to a combined budget total between two and five crores.

It is expected that a person in this position will be able to manage up to 30 full time employees over a range of different fields as per the project/s purpose and description.

This position requires a person with good decision making ability, staff management and monitoring and excellent networking skills. You should be highly knowledgeable in the field of the project and be willing to constantly learn, carry out research, and implement new and effective methods of how the project can be improved. You should be aware of relevant legislation and keep current with any changes.

This position of Project Coordinator will oversee two of For the One’s projects. The two projects are RRR and NSL. 

Repatriation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration Project (RRR)

The RRR Project targets to empower survivors of human trafficking and sexual abuse. The project prioritizes minor aged rape survivors and those who have been trafficked in Nepal and India. As the ultimate goal of the project is for these girls to be able to safely return back to their families where they can continue their recovery and thrive, another crucial aspect of the project is community development which helps address the social and cultural climate of the girls’ communities.  

Next Step Living (NSL)

While most of our safe home graduates will be able to return to their communities; for some that is not possible. The NSL project provides a platform for the Safe Home graduates who are 18+ to transition from receiving full time care into independence. NSL ensures a safe place where the girls can live their life to the fullest employing the skills and mindset they nurtured while at the safe home.

We require someone with experience a minimum of 5 years in the anti-human trafficking sector and working alongside government officials.

Roles and Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Survey/Baseline creation and analysis of results
  • Project design; including planning, budgeting, implementation process, staffing requirements, and monitoring & evaluation
  • Project management: planning, coordination, implementation, administration and M&E
  • Creation of KPI’s/goals/objectives for project under management
  • Creation of monthly project goals/objectives and monitoring the progress towards these goals
  • Creation of budgets in liaison with management
  • In cases when the project is “at risk”; inform management timely with created detailed action and implementation plan with regular updates provided to management
  • Ensure that all activities are complying to the agreed quality standards and within the parameters of the project scope and FTO’s vision and mission, code of conduct and all other policies
  • Checking and approving all budgets submitted from project staff (monthly, trips, etc) to ensure that they are within the overall project’s budget
  • Have knowledge about grants that may be available to work towards receiving them
  • Creation of relevant forms that are specific to the project
  • Creation of relevant policies and procedures that are specific to the project
  • Able to work calmly and effectively during emergency situations

Staff Management

  • Involved in all aspects of the staffing from recruitment to disciplinary actions to termination; working closely with HR
  • Work with HR to find trainings for staff; as required
  • Set priorities, tasks and planning for staff under the project
  • Monitoring staff’s work
  • Provide staff with adequate guidance, coaching, advice
  • Overall responsibility for the back support and ensure each activity is completed by the given timeline (approved work plan) while maintaining high standard as project expectation (according to project document) under assigned projects.

Coordination

  • Building strong relationships and networks with various stakeholders from governmental to local organisations to INGO’s and various forums, etc
  • Responsible for coordination and liaison with funding partners, concerned government line agencies (LMC, SWC, etc), likeminded development organizations, media as and when necessary.
  • Establish and make continuation of organization’s participation and linkages on different networks and forums as per organization’s strategic theme.

Compliance

  • Creation of all necessary reports for relevant government agencies
  • Gaining all the necessary approvals for the project
  • Ensuring all aspects are in accordance with the appropriate governmental regulations and laws
  • Monitor and interpret legislation, regulation and other agreements and ensure compliance
  • When appropriate, ensure renewal is completed on time
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
  • Create and/or review reports (if provided by staff) in a timely manner as set out in reporting schedules (Project, Donor & Marketing) set out by FTO
  • Responsible for the close monitoring of the progress of the projects
  • Closely monitor of each project activity in terms of quality of implemented activities and ensure that the project activities are delivered on time, within agreed budget with assuring the quality standard.
  • Regularly review project proposal and logical framework against the actual activities completed and ensure progress and well as the quality of the program has been met.

  • Support Executive Director as required
  • Preform any other job-related tasks
Job Specification

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Master’s degree with minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant field
  • Effective staff management and team player
  • Efficiency using MS packages
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali
  • Report Writing
  • Ability to ride motorbike or scooter (must have licence)
  • Timely and time management

Working Times

  • This role is five days per week. The expected working days are from Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm.
  • On occasion, you will be required to go out into the field for 1-2 weeks at a time and must be available during emergency situations even if outside of the general working hours.
  • As this person is responsible for the project; your role and working hours are not complete until all the deadlines have been reached on time.
