Job Description

Job Summary:

The Counselor at Orchard Institute will provide professional and confidential counseling services to students, promoting mental wellness, personal growth, and academic success. The ideal candidate will support individuals in navigating personal, social, emotional, and academic challenges, and contribute to a positive and inclusive campus environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Offer individual and group counseling sessions to students dealing with personal, academic, or career-related issues.
Conduct mental health assessments and maintain accurate, confidential records.
Develop and implement wellness programs, workshops, and seminars.
Collaborate with academic staff and administration to identify and support at-risk students.
Provide crisis intervention and refer students to external mental health professionals when needed.
Promote awareness and understanding of mental health issues within the institute.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by relevant licensing bodies.

Job Specification

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Certification or licensure in counseling or psychotherapy (as per local regulations).
Minimum 1–3 years of relevant counseling experience (preferably in an educational setting).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Empathy, discretion, and a commitment to student well-being.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with adolescent and young adult mental health.
Experience with group therapy, workshops, or psych educational programming.
Multilingual abilities are a plus.
Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
