Job Summary:
As a Commi - I, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting in cooking, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. You will work closely under the supervision of senior chefs to maintain food quality and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items in accordance with recipes and standards.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen before and after service.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic workstation, following food safety regulations.
- Support senior kitchen staff with mise en place and food prep tasks.
- Monitor and report any spoilage or shortages in ingredients.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding sanitation, cleanliness, and hygiene.
- Ensure timely delivery of food during service hours.
- Label and store food properly to prevent contamination.
- Take part in staff meetings and kitchen training programs.
Job Specification
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen (preferably in Indian or Mughlai cuisine).
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit to stand for long hours and handle kitchen demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or diploma in culinary arts or hotel management.
- Previous experience in a fine dining or ethnic cuisine restaurant.
Working Conditions:
