Designations: Associate Sales Engineer - Tender & Bid Management

Level: Entry

Types of Employees: Full-time

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Mahavir Shree International Pvt. Ltd. is a recognized leader in project execution, System Integration, and end-to-end Engineering, Procurement & Construction contracting in Nepal. Our multi-disciplinary teams — spanning Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, IT, Procurement, Admin & HR, Safety & Quality Finance, and Legal — deliver complex, high-value projects across critical sectors of Nepal's growing economy.

As we scale our operations, we are expanding our Tender & Bid Management unit within the Sales Department and inviting driven professionals to join as Tender & Bid Management. In this role, you will be the engine behind our competitive edge — orchestrating end-to-end tender processes, ensuring airtight compliance, and coordinating seamlessly with Engineering, Finance, Admin & HR, and Legal teams to produce winning bid submissions. This is a high-visibility role where your precision and diligence directly influence the company's project pipeline and growth trajectory.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, track, and analyze national and international tender opportunities from government portals (e.g., PPMO) and private sector clients.
  • Lead the full tender lifecycle — from notice identification, EOI/RFQ/RFP analysis, and bid planning to final submission and post-bid clarification management.
  • Prepare, compile, and review all bid documentation including technical proposals, commercial bids, BOQs, compliance matrices, and eligibility criteria checklists.
  • Interpret tender specifications and ensure strict adherence to all procedural, legal, and technical compliance requirements stipulated by clients or regulators.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering Department (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, IT) to gather technical input, scope clarifications, and execution methodology for proposals.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team on bid pricing strategies, cost estimation reviews, and financial documentation (bank guarantees, audited statements, financial capacity proofs).
  • Liaise with the Legal and Procurement teams to ensure contract terms, legal certificates, and supplier qualifications are bid-ready and current.
  • Maintain a structured and up-to-date repository of company credentials, certifications, past performance records, and pre-qualification documents.
  • Track submission deadlines with disciplined rigor; manage multiple concurrent tenders without compromise to quality or compliance.
  • Monitor post-submission outcomes, document lessons learned, and continuously improve bid templates and processes for higher win rates.
  • Support senior bid managers in proposal strategy, competitive positioning, and client presentation preparation when required.

REQUIREMENTS — KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

A: EDUCATION

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or IT) or Business Administration / Management.
  • Additional certification in Procurement, Project Management or Contract Management is a advantage.

B: EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience in tender/bid management, procurement, or project coordination within an EPC, System Integration, or construction company is a major advantage and strongly preferred.
  • Freshers with demonstrable academic rigor, internship experience, or relevant project exposure are encouraged — however, a clear commitment to long-term professional growth is non-negotiable.
  • Familiarity with Nepal's public procurement framework (Public Procurement Act, PPMO regulations, e-GP portal) is highly valued.

C: TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for bid document preparation and data management.
  • Strong technical reading ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and BOQs across engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with document management systems or bid management software is an added advantage.

D: CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Exceptional attention to detail — errors in bid documents have real business consequences; meticulousness is paramount.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in both Nepali and English; ability to draft professional correspondence and proposal narratives.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills; ability to work calmly under deadline pressure.
  • Cross-functional collaboration mindset — comfortable working across Engineering, Finance, Legal, Admin & HR ,and Procurement teams.
  • Degree of professional integrity, reliability, and a growth-oriented, long-term career perspective.
