Job Title- Academic Counselor
Job Summary
The Academic Counselor is responsible for guiding students in making informed decisions regarding their education and career paths. The role involves providing academic counseling, assisting with study abroad processes, and ensuring a smooth experience for students through effective communication and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one counseling to students regarding study options (local and international)
- Assess students’ academic background, interests, and career goals
- Guide students in selecting appropriate courses, universities, and countries
- Assist with application procedures, documentation, and deadlines
- Support students in visa processing and interview preparation
- Maintain regular follow-ups with students and parents
- Keep updated with international education trends, universities, and policies
- Coordinate with partner institutions and internal departments
- Maintain accurate student records and counseling data
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Management, Education, or related field
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Counseling and persuasive abilities
- Knowledge of study abroad processes
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Organizational and multitasking ability
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to handle students with empathy and professionalism
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in counseling, education consultancy, or related field
- Freshers with strong communication skills may also apply
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: Senior Counselor
- Works closely with admissions and documentation teams
Working Conditions
- Location: Kupondole (office-based)
- Working Hours: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
