Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Kathmandu for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer. The Senior Ruby on Rails Developer will take ownership of system architecture, lead development initiatives, and mentor junior developers. This role requires strong technical judgment, leadership, and the ability to align engineering decisions with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications

• Lead architectural decisions and ensure best practices are followed

• Review code and enforce high standards for quality and security

• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of applications

• Lead integration with third-party services and APIs

• Guide and mentor mid-level and junior developers

• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders on technical planning

• Oversee database design, data integrity, and performance tuning

• Manage deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and production issues

• Identify technical risks and propose solutions proactively

• Contribute to long-term technical strategy and roadmap

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails and Ruby

• Strong understanding of system architecture and design patterns

• Advanced experience with relational databases and optimization

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar)

• Strong background in automated testing and code quality tools

• Experience with background processing, caching, and scaling strategies

• Strong knowledge of application security and performance tunings
