Job Description
Job Overview: The Trainee Scrum Master will assist in facilitating and supporting agile practices within the team. Under the guidance of senior Scrum Masters, this role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in agile methodologies, ensuring the team adheres to Scrum practices, and helping to deliver high-quality products.
Reports to: Product Release Manager
Responsibilities:
- Assist in facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support the team in defining and achieving sprint goals.
- Help manage and maintain the product backlog in collaboration with the Product Owner.
- Foster a collaborative and self-organizing team environment.
- Assist in removing impediments and obstacles that hinder team progress.
- Encourage continuous improvement within the team.
- Serve as a point of contact for team members and stakeholders.
- Assist in communicating project progress, risks, and issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate open communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
- Promote and advocate agile principles and practices within the team.
- Assist in educating the team on Scrum and agile methodologies.
- Support the adoption and implementation of agile tools and techniques.
- Help monitor team performance and progress using agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts).
- Assist in identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
- Prepare and distribute reports on sprint progress, team performance, and project status.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6 months- 1 years of experience in a Scrum Master or agile-related role.
- Basic ability in data analysis and reporting, with some experience in tools such as PowerBI/Tableau and JIRA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Scrum (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)).
- Experience with agile project management tools and software.
- Exposure to working in an agile environment.
Personal Characteristics:
- Excellent command of English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative skills, capable of engaging in discussions with Product Managers, Engineering, Quality Control, Technical Writing, DevOps, and other team members.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a developing ability for conflict resolution.
- Highly motivated, with a passion for continuous learning and professional development.
- Capable of managing stress and adapting to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem identification and resolution.
