Job Description
COVU is a dynamic InsurTech company focused on creating seamless insurance experiences for customers. Our team is passionate about innovation, customer success, and providing exceptional service in the insurance industry.
We are seeking a Marketing Data Specialist to establish robust marketing analytics practices and—critically—deliver in-depth website traffic analysis. In this part-time/project-based role, you will be responsible for creating end-to-end tracking and attribution systems, analyzing all facets of website traffic, and ensuring data-driven decisions guide our marketing efforts. The ultimate goal is to help us improve user experience, improve engagement, and drive conversions using clear, actionable insights.
Website Traffic Analysis & Insights
- Monitor and analyze website traffic using Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and other analytics tools to identify key trends, user behaviors, and high-performing content.
- Develop segmentation strategies (e.g., by traffic source, device, user demographics) to pinpoint areas of growth, friction points, and optimization opportunities.
- Conduct regular funnel analyses to understand user journeys, conversion paths, and drop-off points, recommending data-informed improvements.
- Provide clear, actionable reports on weekly and monthly website performance metrics (traffic sources, bounce rates, session durations, pages per session, conversions, etc.).
- Collaborate with the team to improve site structure, navigation, and content strategy based on traffic insights.
- Configure and maintain comprehensive tracking across Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and other relevant platforms.
- Establish and refine multi-touch attribution models to accurately reflect how channels and campaigns contribute to conversions.
- Integrate Calendly data and other booking tools to track conversions throughout the entire marketing funnel, ensuring lead quality is measurable and actionable.
- Consolidate data from diverse marketing channels—Ad platforms (Reddit Ads/Meta Ads/Google Ads), Google Analytics, Marketing Cloud, Calendly, etc.—into unified dashboards and reports.
- Implement tag management solutions (e.g., Google Tag Manager) to maintain consistent and accurate data collection across multiple platforms.
- Ensure data hygiene and standardized tracking parameters (UTMs, campaign IDs, etc.) for reliable analysis.
- Build and maintain user-friendly dashboards (e.g., Google Data Studio, Power BI, Tableau) to visualize key performance metrics, including traffic trends and campaign performance.
- Present insights and performance updates to leadership and cross-functional teams, highlighting both wins and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with marketing stakeholders on A/B tests, funnel optimizations, and data-driven experiments to refine messaging and improve conversion rates.
- Ensure all data practices comply with relevant privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and industry best practices.
- Continuously research and adopt emerging analytics methods, reporting strategies, and marketing technologies to keep our practices cutting-edge.
- 5+ years of experience in Google Analytics, Google Search Console Analytics, and other SEO related tools.
- Proven track record of dissecting large volumes of data to derive meaningful insights about user behavior, content performance, and conversion bottlenecks.
- Skilled in using data visualization tools and creating clear, actionable reports for multiple stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, and other digital analytics platforms.
- Ability to design and maintain comprehensive attribution models across multiple channels and touchpoints.
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and troubleshooting technical tracking issues.
- Excellent ability to translate complex data findings into easy-to-digest recommendations for marketing, sales, product, and executive teams.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of juggling multiple projects—ranging from analytics setups to ongoing reporting initiatives—and prioritizing them effectively.
- Familiarity with project management tools like Asana, Trello, or Jira.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) are highly desirable.
This is a part-time or project-based role. If you thrive on turning raw data into actionable insights and want to influence key marketing decisions, we’d love to hear from you.
