-Job Description:
1.Quality Assurance & Control:
* Oversee daily Internal Quality Control (IQC) runs, interpretation, and corrective actions as per the QC Calendar.
* Conduct monthly IQC analysis (Levey-Jennings (LJ) chart monitoring, corrective action (CA), Measurement Uncertainty (MU) & Coefficient of Variation (CV%) calculation, local mean & SD determination).
* Ensure timely participation in Inter-Laboratory Comparison (ILC) & External Quality Assurance Scheme (EQAS) programs, their interpretation, and corrective actions.
* Ensure critical value reporting and timely repeat sample tracking and re-run documentation.
* Maintain non-conforming logs and implement necessary corrective and preventive actions.
* Regularly monitor quality indicators, including sample rejection, precision, and accuracy of results.
* Ensure periodic review and update of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality manuals, and laboratory logs as per accreditation requirements.
2. Equipment & Maintenance Management:
* Ensure timely calibration, preventive maintenance, and validation of all laboratory equipment across 12 branches.
* Monitor the utilization of instruments across branches and optimize workflow for efficiency.
* Plan for new equipment procurement, considering test expansion and financial feasibility.
* Monitor and approve financial budgeting for technical operations, including QC costs, training expenses, and old instrument maintenance.
* Supervise daily equipment cleaning and maintenance record updates.
3. TAT Analysis & Monitoring:
* Monitor Turnaround Time (TAT) across different departments and ensure compliance with standard benchmarks.
* Identify bottlenecks affecting TAT and implement strategies to improve efficiency.
* Work with lab staff and IT teams to optimize workflow, sample tracking, and automation for improved TAT.
* Conduct monthly TAT performance analysis and present reports to management.
* Ensure real-time monitoring of urgent and STAT test samples to meet clinical needs.
4. Staff Training & Development:
* Assess training needs and develop upskilling programs for lab technologists and technicians.
* Conduct regular training programs on new technologies, quality control, and best practices.
* Ensure all staff follow standard laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
* Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to lab personnel.
5. Compliance & Audits:
* Lead and conduct focused internal audits across all NPL branches to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
* Ensure compliance with ISO 15189:2022, NABL, and other accreditation standards.
* Address non-conformities identified during audits and implement process improvements.
* Conduct monthly review meetings to assess technical operations and compliance.
6. Safety & Waste Management:
* Ensure adherence to biosafety protocols and proper waste disposal procedures.
* Implement spillage management plans and train staff on emergency response.
* Monitor and enforce compliance with biomedical waste regulations.
7. Laboratory Expansion & Financial Planning:
* Plan for test menu expansion by evaluating the feasibility of adding tests to existing or new instruments.
* Work on financial budgeting related to technical operations, including new instrument purchases, QC expenses, training budgets, and maintenance costs.
* Oversee the cost-effectiveness of laboratory operations and optimize instrument utilization across all branches.
* Conduct monthly analytics on test counts, CPT (Cost per Test) calculations, and overall financial performance of the lab
