Role Overview:
The Senior Accountant will oversee and manage the accounting functions of Kohinoor Investment. This role is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining internal controls, and providing financial insights to management. The person will supervise accounting processes, coordinate audits, and contribute to strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurate and complete.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Perform account reconciliations (bank, fixed assets, payables, receivables, etc.).
Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
Coordinate with external auditors during audits; prepare and provide audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Conduct variance analysis, financial forecasting, and budgeting.
Analyze financial data and present insights to senior management.
Review and update accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure statutory compliance (tax, VAT, regulatory filings) as applicable.
Supervise or mentor junior accounting staff or accountants.
Support cash flow management, fund settlement, and reconciliation of accounts.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, trading) to align financial processes.

Job Specification

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field — minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Master’s degree (Accounting / Finance / MBA) — acceptable with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Experience:

Proven experience in accounting or finance role, preferably in financial services, brokerage, or investment sector.
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial closing, and financial reporting.
Experience with audits and working with external auditors.
Previous supervisory experience (managing accountants or accounting team) is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

Excellent understanding of accounting standards / principles.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in accounting software; experience in ERP or financial systems is preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
Good communication skills — able to present financial insights to management.
Good organizational and time-management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
Integrity and high ethical standards.
Understanding of Nepalese regulatory requirements (tax, financial regulations) is a plus.
