Job Description
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the spare parts department
- Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure accurate stock records
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming parts and supplies
- Issue parts to technicians and service teams based on job requirements
- Process parts orders from service, retail, and internal departments
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for orders, returns, and deliveries
- Prepare purchase requisitions and follow up on pending orders
- Maintain records of stock movement, usage, and adjustments in the system
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Ensure proper labeling, shelving, and storage of all parts
- Prepare and submit inventory reports and performance metrics
- Ensure parts are handled according to safety and quality standards
- Support audits and compliance with inventory management procedures
Job Specification
- Knowledge of spare parts and components relevant to the industry (e.g., automotive, machinery)
- Proficiency in using inventory management or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar)
- Understanding of stock control methods, reorder levels, and inventory optimization
- Ability to read and interpret parts manuals, catalogs, and technical documentation
- Familiarity with safety procedures and quality standards for handling parts
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication (written and verbal)
- Customer service orientation when dealing with service teams or external clients
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of spare parts and inventory control systems
- Good understanding of warehouse or stockroom procedures
