Job Description

The Ticketing Officer is responsible for handling airline reservations, issuing tickets, and providing travel information to clients. This role involves managing bookings through Global Distribution Systems (GDS), ensuring accurate fare calculations, processing payments, and resolving ticketing-related queries. The officer ensures smooth and timely travel arrangements while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make flight reservations and issue domestic/international air tickets using GDS (e.g., Amadeus, Galileo).
  • Provide clients with information on flight schedules, fare rules, visa policies, and baggage allowances.
  • Handle reissues, cancellations, refunds, and schedule changes.
  • Coordinate with airlines and clients for booking confirmations or changes.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and client details.
  • Support walk-in customers and respond to ticketing inquiries via phone/email.
  • Ensure compliance with airline policies and travel regulations.
Job Specification

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Additional certification in GDS (e.g., Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre) or IATA course is an advantage.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in a travel agency, tour operator company, airline, or hospitality sector.
  • Fresh graduates with internship experience in travel or tourism can also be considered.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in computerized reservation systems (CRS) and Global Distribution Systems (GDS).
  • Good understanding of domestic and international destinations, airfare structures, and tour packaging.
  • Knowledge of visa processing, travel insurance, and travel regulations.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
