Job Description
Purpose of the Role:
To lead and oversee all financial aspects of the business and drive the company’s financial strategy and planning. The CFO is responsible for managing financial risks, financial planning and analysis, strategic decision support, reporting, compliance, and capital structure—particularly in a complex manufacturing setup.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Management
- Develop and implement robust financial strategies aligned with the company’s growth and operational goals.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO/MD and board on financial performance and long-term planning.
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
- Monitor and direct the implementation of financial plans, forecasts, and budgets.
- Conduct detailed cost-benefit analysis for various operations, projects, and product lines.
- Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting financial data and key business metrics.
Accounting and Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee internal controls, audits, and ensure tax and statutory compliance.
Cash Flow, Working Capital & Fund Management
- Manage treasury functions, including cash flow management, working capital optimization, and debt servicing.
- Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions for funding and credit facilities.
Cost Control and Optimization
- Implement effective cost accounting systems and control mechanisms specific to manufacturing (including raw materials, production, logistics).
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities across the supply chain.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team.
- Build a performance-oriented culture with strong ethical standards.
ERP & Digital Transformation
- Support implementation and efficient utilization of ERP and digital tools for financial reporting and controls.
Job Specification
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA)
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience
- At least 5 years in a manufacturing environment (cement or steel preferred)
Industry Preference: Cement, Steel, or Heavy Manufacturing
Technical Skills:
- Financial strategy and planning
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Costing and cost control
- Statutory compliance and taxation
- ERP system knowledge
- Understanding of IFRS/GAAP
Soft Skills:
