HI Nepal invites applications for the following position to support the Finance Department:

1. Finance Support Officer – 1

Terms & Conditions: Fixed term contract till December 2022

Location: Country Office, Kathmandu, Nepal

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in posting/handling the Cash and Bank transactions into NAV (accounting software) on daily basis according to the specified Projects, Chart of Accounts coding & Donors coding requirements
  • Ensure all the accountancy related documents are scanned and well documented 
  • Check the accuracy of bills, the presence of analytical codification (Financial coding) and the authorization of expenses before making any payment;
  • Ensures safe mode for payment (e.g. accounts Payee cheques, bank transfer etc')
  • Ensure the Hl standard procedure has been followed before making any kind of payments in checking
  • Ensure timely payment of aIl recurrent expenses (eg. Rent, utility bills)
  • Organizes fund transfers for partner's organization; ensures that funds have been deposited in partners' bank accounts and follows the reception of acknowledgment receipt
  • Regularly checks the bank balance and ensures that there is a sufficient fund available for payment
  • Carry out a cash box control every week and at the end of each month
  • Support Sr. Accounts Officer in monthly, mid-term and annual Accountancy closure
  • Support Sr. Compliance Officer during the local annual audit to justify the NAV entries and to identify the supporting documents

Qualification and Skills Required: 

  • A Minimum of Higher Secondary Education or Equivalent in Management with at least 2-3 years of working experience in supportive role in finance related work in similar position ‘OR’ Bachelor’s Degree in Management with at least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge and skills on basic financial works such as preparing vouchers, handling petty cash, tax, banks, filing and documentation
  • Sound Knowledge of Book Keeping, Accounting Standard and Rules
  • Good command of computer skill on Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Sound understanding of taxation rules and government compliance and strong eye for detail 
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skill
  • Ability to work under pressure and hold high level of integrity
