The Communications Officer executes comprehensive digital media strategies to enhance World Vision International Nepal's brand awareness and public engagement. This role supports campaigns focused on child wellbeing advocacy, ensures brand compliance across all materials, creates compelling content from field activities, manages communication assets systematically, and builds internal capacity for effective storytelling while supporting emergency communications when required.
Major Responsibilities
1. Execute digital media plans and manage social media presence and website content

2. Create and curate engaging content (photos, videos, stories) from field visits following WVI standards
Field Visit Coordination for Content Gathering
Capture and Document Stories of Change
Photography and Videography
Translation
Support Office/Donor Coordination
3. Design and produce factsheets, newsletters, and internal publications
Draft and Distribute Internal Newsletters
Create and Maintain Internal Communication Materials
Support Orientation for New Staff
4. Contribute to advocacy campaigns and public efforts for child wellbeing issues in Nepal
Develop Advocacy Communication Materials
Coordinate with Field Teams and Partners
Assist in Policy Communication
5. Systematically manage and maintain comprehensive communication asset inventory
Maintain a Centralized Digital Asset Library
Ensure Consent and Safeguarding Compliance
Archive Outdated or Unused Materials
Monitor Usage and Requests
6. Support capacity building for non-communications staff in writing, photography, and videography
7. Support emergency communications during disasters and coordinate donor/support office field visits
Assist in Drafting Emergency Messages
Coordinate with Field Teams for Real-Time Updates
Requirements Include:
Required Education and Professional Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or equivalent field
Minimum 1-2 years working experience in Communications/Media field, Development sector, or relevant fields
Proficiency in relevant software applications for content creation and design
Strong English and Nepali language capabilities with translation skills
Demonstrated experience in content creation for social media platforms
Proven experience in visual production including video editing and transcription
Experience in graphics design and digital content creation
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
Experience working with international NGOs or development organizations
Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding principles
Understanding of Nepal's media landscape and cultural context
Understanding of emergency communications and crisis management
Photography and videography certification or training
Others
Regular field visits to program areas across Nepal (30-40% travel).
Ability to work in rural and remote locations with basic facilities and capability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
Ability to carry photography and video equipment during field visits.
English and Nepali (written and spoken). Ability to translate between Nepali and English accurately.
Cultural sensitivity in communication across diverse communities.
Flexible working hours to accommodate emergency communications needs.
