Job Description
This role is responsible to support the Youth Programme team for project design, pitching ideas, implementation, monitoring, and partnership management based on the project agreement and Country Strategy Paper (CSP) promises and direction to ensure Human Right Based Approach (HRBA) and YOUTH CENTRIC programming.
S/he is also responsible to lead or contribute to the following institutional priorities as per the requirements of ActionAid International Nepal (AAIN):
- Human right based approach (HRBA)
- Feminist Leadership
- Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse (SHEA) & Safeguarding (including Child Safeguarding)
- Behavioral change approach (BCA) Safety and Security
Key Activities
Budgeting and Planning
- Support partners and youth volunteers to develop their annual programme and budget plan to ensure that the control of expenditure and the disbursement of resources are in accordance with the established procedures.
- Support in formulation, reviewing, consolidation and implementation of project plan, annual plan, and budget in coordination with Programme Officer / coordinator and Line Manager.
- Collaborate with Programme Officer and Finance person to resolve financial issues related to programme expenditures.
Reporting, Monitoring and Supervision
- Prepare programme reports (including statutory and event reports), community voices and testimonies ensuring that they meet the requirement of AAIN’s guidelines.
- Support Partners to generate quality reports, impact stories and community voices.
- Submit individual monthly/quarterly work plans and progress reports including filed visit to Line Manager as per set timeline.
- Support Line Manager in developing, monitoring, reviewing and updating project activity work plan to ensure that the project attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.
- Collaborate with Programme Officer and Line Manager to actively monitor the evolving/emerging context to ensure project quality in the implementation.
- Keep up to date information and data of project activities and partners.
- Facilitate Partners and YOUTH HUB for participatory and democratic programme review process.
Corporate Responsibilities
- Support in building and maintaining relationship with various stakeholders and government line agencies at the local level – palika and province level of project areas. • Facilitate orientation and dissemination of AAIN’s values, mission, principles, strategies and policies to the wider stakeholders.
- Support to actively engage in advocacy and alliance building by creating connection with different networks and alliances, strengthen network with local donors’ programmatic partnership and collaboration.
Job Specification
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with two years of relevant experience.
- Experience of working on issue-based Campaign and Youth Mobilization,
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
Essential Knowledge
- Understanding of Youth rights and human rights issues in the Country
- Good understanding of programme management best practices in development organisations
- Human Rights Based Approach to Development
- Understanding of the project management
Language Proficiency
- Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) in both English, Nepali and regional language (Tharu, Awadhi & Maitheli)

- Demonstrated ability to work under reasonable pressure, deadlines, and handle multiple priorities
