Job Description
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction for a well-established infrastructure, construction materials, production, and trading business. The role involves aligning the company’s objectives with its long‑term growth and sustainability, ensuring operational efficiency, financial discipline, and nurturing a strong company culture. The CEO will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors and senior management to implement policies, drive business performance, and maintain the company’s competitive position in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Business Development
- Develop and implement the company’s long‑term strategic roadmap in alignment with its vision, mission, and corporate objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new market trends, expansion opportunities, and potential partnerships within the infrastructure and construction materials sectors.
- Establish and nurture long‑term relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, banking institutions, and regulatory authorities.
Operational Oversight
- Maintain overall accountability for the company’s operational efficiency across its manufacturing, production, sales, distribution, and trading departments.
- Lead optimization of internal and external supply chain management, ensuring seamless procurement, production, and delivery of goods.
- Ensure operational policies, quality controls, and best practices are implemented across departments for sustainable and cost‑effective production.
Financial Stewardship
- Maintain robust oversight of the company’s financial health and profitability.
- Lead corporate planning, budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation.
- Leverage deep knowledge of corporate finance, investment appraisal, and risk assessment to guide the company towards long‑term financial stability and growth.
People Management and Culture
- Lead and mentor the senior management team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, integrity, and excellence.
- Develop succession planning and talent management strategies, nurturing future leaders within the organization.
- Maintain an environment that promotes staff engagement, productivity, and long‑term retention.
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure the organization operates within its legal, ethical, and regulatory obligations, aligning with best practices and statutory requirements.
- Maintain corporate governance standards, oversee risk assessments, and implement mitigation measures where required.
External Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain constructive and trustworthy relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, suppliers, regulatory authorities, contractors, and the wider business community.
- Represent the company in meetings, seminars, and events, acting as its voice and public face.
Job Specification
Education:
- Preferred: Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in infrastructure/construction materials, production, or trading businesses.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior managerial or leadership role (such as General Manager, COO, or CEO).
- Prior experience as a CFO in a manufacturing or infrastructure-related business is highly preferred.
- Strong background in dealing with financial institutions and experience in financing for infrastructure and trading industries.
Knowledge & Skills:
- In‑depth understanding of manufacturing, supply chain dynamics, and trading operational environments.
- Strong expertise in corporate finance, cost optimization, working capital management, and investment appraisals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven record of nurturing long‑term relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and authorities.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic decision‑making abilities.
- Profound understanding of corporate governance, statutory compliance, and risk mitigation practices.
- Skilled in motivating, mentoring, and leading senior management teams towards achieving corporate objectives.
- Visionary mindset combined with practical experience in implementing operational excellence and performance metrics.
