Job Description

The Banking Operations Manager (E-Wallet & Digital Payments) is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end operational processes related to e-wallet services, digital payments, and transaction systems. This role focuses on ensuring smooth operations, system stability, compliance, and efficiency in establishing and maintaining payment infrastructure that supports digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management

  • Oversee day-to-day e-wallet and digital payment operations including fund transfers, settlements, reconciliation, and transaction monitoring.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of all payment transactions (QR, card, top-up, P2P, merchant payments, bill payments, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for payment operations.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders — including IT, finance, risk, regulators, and payment partners.

Payment System Establishment & Enhancement

  • Lead the setup and operational launch of new digital payment systems, channels, and APIs.
  • Collaborate with product, IT, and compliance teams to design and implement secure, scalable payment systems.
  • Coordinate system integrations with local and international payment gateways, card networks, and financial institutions.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and lead process automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience.

Risk, Compliance & Control

  • Ensure compliance with central bank regulations, AML/CFT, KYC, data protection, and operational risk policies.
  • Monitor and mitigate operational risks through strong internal controls, system alerts, and exception handling.
  • Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for any payment system failures or transaction discrepancies.
  • Support audits and regulatory reviews, providing accurate documentation and operational insights.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare periodic reports on transaction volumes, reconciliation status, SLAs, and operational KPIs.
  • Analyze transaction trends to identify risks, revenue opportunities, and customer behavior insights.
  • Support strategic planning with data-driven recommendations.
Job Specification
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • At least 3 years in e-wallet or payment systems, banking or fintech.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems (e.g., QR payments, APIs, switches, settlement systems).
  • Experience in integrating and operating with payment gateways, processors, and clearing houses.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks for digital payments and electronic money.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Able to work independently.
