Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Japan Education Counselor to guide students aspiring to pursue higher education in Japan. The ideal candidate should have sound knowledge of Japanese universities, courses, scholarships, and student visa procedures. The counselor will play a vital role in end-to-end student support, from counseling to successful enrollment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and updated information to students regarding study opportunities in Japan.
Assist students in selecting appropriate courses and universities based on their academic background and career goals.
Guide students through the application process including document preparation, language requirements (e.g., JLPT, IELTS), and SOP writing.
Offer support in the Japan student visa application process and explain immigration requirements.
Liaise with Japanese universities and language schools to track applications and admission status.
Coordinate pre-departure orientations and student briefings.
Maintain student records, inquiries, and follow-ups through CRM or internal systems.
Stay informed about Japanese education system, scholarship opportunities and policy changes.
Participate in education fairs, webinars, and promotional events as a representative of the organization.

Job Specification

Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field.
Prior experience in student counseling or international admissions (Japan-focused experience is a plus).
Good knowledge of Japanese university application processes and visa documentation.
Proficiency in English; knowledge of Japanese (basic to intermediate) is an added advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work in a target-driven environment.
Good organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with Japanese language proficiency tests (JLPT, NAT, etc.).
Understanding of cultural adaptation and lifestyle in Japan.
Exposure to study abroad CRM platforms or tools.
