Responsibilities:

Coordinate and support multi-stakeholder processes (NEEAP, EE & EC Bill, recognition of energy auditor as an official occupation in Nepal)

  • Support to ongoing cooperation with MoEWRI, AEPC, IoE and CTEVT
  • Support to planning and implementation of financial agreement between GIZ and the partners
  • Support in planning and implementation of stakeholders’ consultations
  • Prepare the implementation reports of events, workshops and consultations 

Support the EE legislation adoption process and the elaboration of pertinent rules, regulations and standards, including the ratification of the NEEAP)

  • Support to prepare necessary supporting and main documents as required by MoEWRI and AEPC 
  • Support in planning and implementation of stakeholders’ consultations
  • Support to relevant partners in implementation of identified EE measures as included in the financial agreements
  • Prepare the implementation reports of events, workshops and consultations

Advise on organisational aspects involved in establishing a fund (or modifying existing energy funds) for EE measures and a mandated EE agency (preparatory documents)

  • Support to collect data and information regarding a possible EE fund 
  • Support to prepare relevant background documents in relation to the EE fund 
  • Support to plan and implement stakeholders’ consultations 

Training of relevant federal personnel in the fields of energy efficiency, outreach, and IT as well as support the compilation of guidelines and tools

  • Support to carry out capacity need assessment of relevant partners in the field of energy efficiency, outreach and IT
  • Support to collect data and information 
  • Support to compile the guidelines and tools 
  • Support to implementing partners e-learning platform and helpdesk 

Support reporting and knowledge management related to REEEP activities.

  • Assist Senior Energy Specialist in REEEP’s knowledge management and documentation of learning and innovations
  • Assist in preparation of periodic progress status reports, collection of energy related national news, updating REEEP webpage 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar fields
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in the field of energy efficiency, knowledge on energy efficiency strategy and policy related matters 
  • Experiences in energy efficiency project implementation including planning and execution of stakeholders’ consultations on energy efficiency 
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing diverse stakeholders and promoting consensus
  • Preferably experience working with the Ministries and government partners
  • Very good working knowledge of IT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal & management skills and excellent team player, networking with the ability of advocacy and negotiation
  • Coordination with partner organizations, willing to travel extensively to the field to support partners
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Nepali (both written and verbal)
