Job Description

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the project manager, the livelihood officer will focus on (but not only):

  • Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plans for effective execution of the project activities particularly on the Livelihood promotion component.
  • Ensure effective & timely implementation of the planned and approved activities and strategies in the target communities
  • Develop the monitoring strategy, plan and tools, orient the project team / PNGO regarding the proper utilisation of these tools; assist them in implementing such plans and tools
  • Provide technical backstopping to the project team / PNGO to achieve the set targets – in terms of numbers & quality, in a cost-effective way
  • Supervise financial management of livelihood component
  • Identification and development of partnerships with organisations, training institutions for trainings around small business development, micro-credit, financial planning etc and on inclusive approaches.
  • Identify, prioritize and support communities (through training among others) to implement potential livelihood strategies that are less sensitive to hazards/more resilient to disasters.
  • Coordinate with CTEVT , Small and cottage industry, DAO, DDC and other likeminded organisations / agencies to promote the livelihood options of the target beneficiaries. 
Job Specification

CANDIDATES PROFILE:

  • Minimum of bachelor degree in Agriculture / Management/ entrepreneurship development or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar position 
  • Knowledge on entrepreneurship development and livelihood options among the rural community people
  • Sound knowledge of Child Rights, Women rights, Child protection issues, etc.
  • Practical knowledge of Project Management tools
  • Fluent English and Nepali (spoken and written)

The candidate should be dynamic, self-motivated and result-oriented. The position also requires strong analytical, management and leadership skills. The candidate should be an active learner and eager to take up new challenges and ready to travel into the remote villages. Being able to demonstrate strong personal values and ethics are essential.
