Job Description
The Role
This role goes beyond maintaining websites. You will be responsible for building, optimising, and scaling high-traffic web platforms used by global education institutions. We’re looking for someone who understands how development, site architecture, and technical SEO work together, and who enjoys solving real performance and optimisation challenges.
What you'll do
- Building and maintaining Drupal and WordPress platforms
- Developing custom themes, modules, and plugins
- Writing clean, scalable PHP code
- Integrating APIs and third-party services
- Implementing technical SEO improvements including schema, crawl optimisation, and site architecture
- Optimising Core Web Vitals, performance, and page speed
- Managing caching, CDN configurations, redirects, and hosting optimisation
- Maintaining and optimising MySQL databases
- Ensuring strong security, accessibility, and mobile performance
- Using tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and performance monitoring platforms
- Managing code with Git and structured deployment processes
- Collaborating with designers, marketers, and developers across our global teams
What you'll need
- 5+ years' experience in PHP development
- Strong hands-on experience with Drupal and WordPress
- Experience building custom functionality, plugins, modules, or themes
- Strong understanding of technical SEO implementation
- Experience improving Core Web Vitals and website performance
- Experience with APIs, caching systems, CDNs, and hosting environments
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience working with Git version control
- Good debugging and troubleshooting ability
- Strong English communication skills
