Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 05:00 PM) from Sunday to Friday
Position Overview
The Technical Assistant is responsible for performing and managing the maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems in the dairy plant. This includes regular inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment such as control panel boards, relays, and solenoid valves. The role plays a key part in ensuring smooth and uninterrupted plant operations, maintaining proper documentation, and adhering to safety and hygiene standards, especially in food-grade environments.
Roles And Responsibilities
System Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair panel boards, relays, solenoid valves, motors, and other components.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and automation systems.
- Ensure minimal production downtime through timely maintenance actions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and service logs.
- Follow and enforce compliance with industry safety standards and food-grade practices.
- Identify recurring issues and propose long-term solutions for reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to meet operational targets.
- Respond to equipment faults and assist in root cause analysis and resolution.
- Provide technical support for new system upgrades and machinery integration.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop and tool areas.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Conduct inspections and promptly report any safety hazards or equipment concerns.
Task Related
- Bachelor's in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (preferred)/Diploma
- 1 year of experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally in the dairy or FMCG industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with PLC-based systems, control panels, and automation components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Capability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to adapt to flexible work schedules if required for maintenance needs.
