Summary

Cedar Gate Services is seeking a skilled and proactive Information Security Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding enterprise information assets through active monitoring, incident response, and the implementation of effective security controls. You will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating threats, managing vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational security standards, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain a strong and resilient security posture.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud platforms, endpoints, servers, and network infrastructure
• Engineer and manage security tools including SIEM, EDR/XDR, CSPM, CWPP, IAM, WAF, DLP, and vulnerability management platform
• Implement cloud security best practices, including identity management, network segmentation, encryption, and logging
• Translate compliance requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 1, SOC 2) into enforceable technical security control
• Lead vulnerability remediation efforts for operating systems, cloud workloads, containers, third-party tools, and infrastructure component
• Develop, maintain, and enforce system hardening standards and secure configuration baselines aligned with CIS benchmark
• Support incident response activities by providing technical expertise for containment, eradication, and recover
• Perform security architecture reviews and threat modeling for new systems, cloud services, and platform change
• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code workflows to support secure deployment
• Automate security monitoring, detection, and remediation processes using scripting or SOAR platform
• Support audit and compliance activities by providing technical evidence, control validation, and remediation tracking
• Collaborate with platform, DevOps, infrastructure, and application teams to embed security into system design and operation
• Continuously evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend improvements to strengthen the overall security posture
  
  

Required Experience / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering, cloud security, or platform security role
• Strong expertise in securing cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with security tooling such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, CSPM, CWPP, vulnerability scanners, and firewall
• Solid understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems, system hardening, and configuration management
• Strong working knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK, and OWAS
• Experience implementing and validating technical controls for compliance frameworks including HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC
• Proficiency in scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar language
• Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflow
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance security, compliance, and operational impact
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and compliance team
• Relevant security certifications such as CEH, Security+, Network+, PenTest+, or higher
