Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Corporate Lawyer to join our team. The key tasks of the ideal candidate will provide comprehensive legal support, ensuring our operations align with local and international laws. This role is pivotal in safeguarding our intellectual property, managing contracts, and advising on regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, contracts, including NDAs, partnership agreements, and licensing deals.
  • Conduct comprehensive research, document and provide advice on legal and regulatory compliance matters in Nepal, the USA, UK, Australia, and other relevant jurisdictions.
  • Utilize and keep up to date with relevant changes in Legal AI Technologies and Tools that serve legal goals of ankaEK and its products. 
  • Work closely with the legal team and legal consultants Nationally and Internationally to understand and implement compliance measures where ankaEK’s products are operational globally.   
  • Ensure all company documentation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Work to manage intellectual property rights, including trademarks and copyrights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide legal insights on product development and business strategies.
  • Stay updated on global legal trends and advise on potential impacts to the company.
  • Represent ankaEK and ankaEK’s product as its Attorney in various meetings with various Stakeholders, Government Officials, Regulators, Employees, Vendors and related parties. 
  • Work with Government Regulators and Policy Makers to Lobby and enact laws, regulations and policies to serve the wider function of ankaEK and its products.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; a Master’s degree (LLM) is a plus. 
  • Licensed to practice law in Nepal; additional international legal qualifications are advantageous.
  • Proven experience in corporate law, preferably within the technology sector.
  • Proven experience in international legal matters and cross-border transactions is a plus. 
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Legal AI Tools and Technologies.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with startups or in fast-paced, innovative environments.
  • Knowledge of data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work setting.
