Role overview
We are looking to hire for the position of Junior Presentation Designer.
The Junior Presentation Designer is responsible for assisting in the production of presentation decks, as well as other documents and branded communication, to a standard that positions OMG and all its brands as the leading media agency group in Australia. Presentation Designers enhance the effectiveness of presentations by transforming content into visually engaging and informative slides. They combine design expertise with an understanding of effective communication to ensure that presentations are understandable, memorable and impactful. The right candidate will need to feel comfortable working independently during Australian off-hours.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Brand ambassador
- Working with all OMG brands to ensure consistent and individual branded work, including knowledge or and application of brand guidelines.
Presentation design
- Content redesign and conceptualization: Working in conjunction with the Senior Designers, elevate slides and other content created in Microsoft PowerPoint as provided by client teams, managers and others, with consideration of the following: - Application of required branding, utilizing the appropriate master slides and templates supplied - Improved design and visual appeal in line with established design principles including visual hierarchy, balance and alignment - Ensuring optimal clarity of messaging, and visual theming - Visual consistency across design elements, color schemes, and formatting throughout the presentation.
- Graphics and illustrations: Design or source relevant graphics, icons, and illustrations to complement the presentation's content and engage the audience.
- Data visualization: Create clear and effective data visualizations, such as charts and graphs, to illustrate key points or trends.
- Slide transitions and animation: Apply slide transitions and animation effects to enhance the flow of the presentation and engage the audience.
- PowerPoint templates and masters: Under the guidance of senior designers, work to develop and update PowerPoint templates as required.
- Basic copy editing: Performing basic editing, including spell checking and ensuring content clarity and coherence.
Other marketing and business design requirements
- Assist with design of other marketing and business collateral including invitations, reports, Microsoft Word documents and spreadsheets utilizing various Microsoft and Design software
- Working with brand templates and design assets consistently across all OMG brands, utilizing relevant brand asset libraries
Stakeholder management
- Works closely with OMG’s Senior Designers to deliver design team requirements
- Client Collaboration: Collaborate with presenters and stakeholders to understand the presentation's objectives and incorporate feedback.
- Understands the importance of stakeholder relationships both internally throughout all OMG brands
- Contribute to positive team culture within the design and content pillars
Time management
- Comfortable working independently, particularly as necessitated by time zone differences when the Sydney team is off-line
- Meets deadlines under pressure and communicates issues proactively
- Confident and effective management of your own schedule, working with team members to ensure you understand requirements and provide timely delivery of tasks
Qualification, Skills and Competencies
Essential
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, including use of master slides, templates and themes
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and willingness to learn more
- Graphic or Presentation Design experience and a ’design eye’
Preferred
- Knowledge /use of design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve routine formatting issues
