Role overview
We are looking to hire for the position of Technical Project Manager.
We are seeking a Junior/Mid-Level Technical Project Manager (TPM) to manage end-to-end software development projects, act as the primary liaison between Australian stakeholders and the Nepal-based development team and ensure seamless execution of technical initiatives. This role requires strong project management skills, JIRA expertise, Agile methodologies, and technical awareness to facilitate effective collaboration between development teams and business stakeholders.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, roadmaps, and sprint schedules.
- Work closely with developers, QA, DevOps, and designers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Identify project risks and dependencies, proactively mitigating potential roadblocks.
- Track project milestones, manage release cycles, and ensure timely delivery of features.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Australian stakeholders, product managers, and the Nepal-based development team.
- Translate business and functional requirements into actionable technical tasks for the development team.
- Facilitate stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and stakeholder meetings.
- Provide regular project updates, reports, and demos to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure smooth collaboration by resolving miscommunications, blockers, and cross-team dependencies.
Agile Project Management & JIRA Administration
- Maintain and regularly update Jira, ensuring tasks, epics, and user stories reflect real-time project progress.
- Track and prioritize backlog items, ensuring proper sprint planning and execution.
- Ensure teams adhere to Agile/Scrum best practices, helping enforce sprint discipline.
- Automate and optimize Jira workflows to improve visibility and reporting.
- Collaborate with QA teams to track defects, bug fixes, and testing progress.
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Oversight
- Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices, including requirement gathering, development, testing, deployment, and post-release monitoring.
- Work with developers to ensure CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines function efficiently.
- Oversee code deployment schedules and ensure proper testing before production releases.
- Assist in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) coordination and post-deployment support.
Risk & Quality Management
- Identify potential technical, timeline, or resource risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables by enforcing code review, testing, and deployment standards.
- Track and resolve technical roadblocks, escalating major issues to senior management when necessary.
- Improve development efficiency by identifying and implementing process automation.
Continuous Improvement & Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting notes, technical requirements, and post-mortem reports.
- Continuously improve Agile processes, Jira workflows, and sprint planning strategies.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance team productivity and project delivery.
- Stay updated with the latest project management tools, methodologies, and software development trends.
Required Qualification, Skills and Competencies
1. Technical Knowledge (Preferred but not Mandatory)
- Basic understanding of software development principles, APIs, and databases.
- Familiarity with programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes is a plus.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies (Unit Testing, UAT, Automation, etc.).
2. Project Management & Agile Methodologies
- 1–4 years of experience in technical project management or a related role in software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence for issue tracking, sprint planning, and reporting.
- Solid understanding of Agile (Scrum/Kanban), SDLC, and IT project delivery.
- Proven ability to work with remote and cross-functional teams, managing multiple priorities.
3. Communication & Collaboration Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in managing global stakeholders.
- Ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams, ensuring smooth collaboration.
- Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones (AU-NP collaboration experience preferred).
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business terms for stakeholders.
4. Tools & Platforms Experience
- Must-Have: Jira, Confluence, Trello, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom
- Preferred: Bitbucket/GitHub, Jenkins, Docker/Kubernetes, AWS, Postman
5. Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory)
- Agile Scrum Master (CSM, PSM)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- SAFe Agile Certification
- ITIL or DevOps certifications
