Job Description
OverviewThe Assistant Manager - Software QA plays a critical role in ensuring the quality standards of the organization's software products. This position entails collaborating with development teams to implement testing strategies that align with industry best practices. The Assistant Manager will lead a team of QA engineers, overseeing their work, providing mentoring, and ensuring that all tasks are completed effectively. This role also involves maintaining detailed documentation of testing processes, test cases, and defects, and coordinating testing efforts across multiple projects. In addition, the Assistant Manager will contribute to the continuous improvement of testing frameworks and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Exploratory testing of mobile devices including Field Testing, Aging, and Monitoring Tests for release software of to-be-launched devices as well as for regular software updates of running models
- Conduct network performance testing and verification including call/sms test, voice quality test, internet test, data throughput test
- Non-network testing such as User Interface (UI) testing, functional testing, third-party as well as local applications interoperability test and so on
- Execute field and mobility driving tests for mobile devices
- Maintain constant communication with network operators regarding project configuration for new feature integration and modification on existing network infrastructure
- Identify software defects/bugs/side effects, report issues with accurate issue description and captured logs in issue tracking system and track issue status will regular follow up till resolution
- Optimizing and updating the field test process and test cases to enhance work efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering domain (Electronics/ Electrical/ Communication/ Telecommunications Engineering).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in software quality assurance testing.
- Possess a basic understanding of Android OS and other mobile platforms as well as Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong knowledge of network testing, software testing methodologies and tools.
- Proficient in bug tracking tools and test management software.
- Availability to business trips inside and outside the country, as per the work requirement.
- Availability to work on off hours and weekends, as per the work requirement.
