Job Description

Position Overview

The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems within the organization. This role will involve supervising a team of mechanics, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining mechanical systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

Daily Operation

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanics and mechanical contractors.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect mechanical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and mechanical codes.
  • Train and mentor mechanics on proper maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Maintain inventory of mechanical supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
  • Respond to emergency mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems.
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.

Skills and Qualifications

Task Related

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience as a mechanical supervisor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Familiarity with mechanical codes and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Valid mechanical supervisor license or certification is a plus.
