Job Description
General Ward:
- Provide bedside care and assist patients with daily living activities.
- Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Monitor patient recovery and report concerns to physicians.
Operation Theatre (OT):
- Prepare OT for surgical procedures and ensure all equipment is sterile and functional.
- Assist surgeons during operations as scrub or circulating nurse.
- Monitor patient condition during surgery and assist in post-operative care.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU):
- Deliver continuous, specialized care to critically ill patients.
- Operate advanced medical equipment and monitor life-support systems.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies and ensure effective communication with the ICU team
Patient Assessment and Care Planning:
- Assess patients' health status, including taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and performing physical examinations.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust care plans as needed.
Medication and Treatment Administration:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects and report any concerns.
- Educate patients and their families about medications and treatments.
Patient Education and Support:
- Educate patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families.
- Advocate for patients' rights and needs.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in rounds and meetings to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient care and progress accurately and thoroughly.
Other Duties:
- Operate and monitor medical equipment.
- Assist with medical procedures.
- Supervise and train nursing staff.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Stay up-to-date on current nursing practices and guidelines.
Job Specification
- Minimum PCL Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing (BN/B.Sc. Nursing) from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Nepal Nursing Council (NNC).
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience preferred (Freshers with strong academic background may also apply).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in assigned departments.
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and medical records.
