Job Description

Hulas Steel Industries Limited is seeking a Sr. Finance Officer to manage day-to-day financial operations and support monthly and year-end reporting for a manufacturing business. This role is for an experienced finance professional who can ensure accurate costing, tight controls, and timely compliance—helping the company make sound financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial schedules.
  • Oversee financial reporting for management, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal policies.
  • Coordinate with production and procurement teams to support manufacturing cost tracking, inventory valuation, and cost variance reporting.
  • Review and verify vouchers, payments, receipts, and supporting documents for proper authorization and documentation.
  • Maintain and update ledgers and accounting records, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax, statutory reporting requirements, and documentation practices.
  • Support internal controls by monitoring expense approvals, payment workflows, and compliance with company accounting procedures.
Job Specification
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Studies, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance/accounting roles with exposure to month-end closing and reporting.
  • Ability to manage stress and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring deadlines are met in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, maintaining accuracy and control during audits, closures, and reporting cycles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for ledgers, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of voucher processing, bank reconciliation, and accounts payable/receivable accounting.
  • TDS/VAT and other common Nepal compliance exposure, including preparation and reconciliation of tax-related records.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with manufacturing cost accounting concepts such as BOM, WIP, and overhead allocation.
  • Experience supporting internal or statutory audits in Nepal and handling audit queries with supporting evidence.

What We Offer

  • Opportunities to work with a growing manufacturing organization and gain hands-on exposure to industrial finance processes.
  • Structured internal processes, tools, and mentorship to support accurate reporting and control.
  • Performance-based evaluation and career development opportunities within the finance function.
  • A supportive work environment with clear responsibilities and compliance-focused operations.
