Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to management and stakeholders.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of the organization's budget. Prepare financial forecasts and projections based on market trends, business plans, and financial analysis.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments and aging accounts receivable.
General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. Perform periodic reconciliations of accounts to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
Financial Controls: Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
Taxation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT, payroll taxes, and other applicable taxes. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary adjustments.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making. Analyse financial data, trends, and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and revenue enhancement.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and manage working capital effectively. Forecast cash flow requirements, maintain cash flow projections, and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits. Provide required documentation and support to auditors. Address audit findings and implement necessary corrective actions.
Job Specification
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Preferably pursuing or completed Chartered Accountancy (CA) – Intermediate level, or MBA in Finance
Experience:
- Minimum of 3–4 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial reporting
- Prior experience in budgeting, taxation, financial compliance, and audit support
- Experience in working with accounting software such as Tally, Swastik, or ERP systems
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax laws in Nepal
- Skilled in accounts payable/receivable management
- Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliation
- Understanding of VAT, TDS, payroll taxes, and statutory returns
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial reporting tools
