Job Description
- To implement the child protection Policy of CarNetNepal in the concerned district
- To ensure that the policies, procedures, systems, structures, resources and personnel in place to promote the welfare and protection of children
- Work jointly with LCCHT, IRC, WFC, VCPC, Rural municipality, ward office, Schools, children’s club, SHG, parents/guardians/leaders and other agencies through joint planning, training and monitoring their arrangements for the protection of children.
- To make plan, budget, implement, monitor, report and document the Child protection project.
- To prepare a mapping for stakeholders, baseline survey and to track beneficiaries of the project
- To mobilize the social mobilizers, project volunteers and concerned stakeholders
- To make a good Networking connection with Rural municipality and district level stakeholders
- To coach, mentor and train the subordinates.
- To implement KAP Survey among beneficiaries.
- To Document the project learning’s and Stakeholders recommendation.
- Ensure there are quality assurance mechanisms in place to monitor, review and evaluate arrangements for the protection of children.
- To lead in facilitating the development of safeguarding and child protection policies, training and procedures and guidance for the school.
- To monitor and review the implementation of the relevant policies and documentation and procedures to ensure they are adhered to, remain current and fit for purpose.
- To work directly with children in need and their families in the community in order to promote, strengthen and develop the potential of parents and their children in order to prevent children becoming looked after and/or suffering significant harm.
- Work closely with commissioning Children and Families Social Workers along with developing links with and utilizing resources of the community as part of agreed plans for children.
- Attend and participate in Child Protection Conferences and Planning and Review meetings whilst working closely with colleague’s in Children’s Services as required, some of which may take place out of normal working hours.
Job Specification
- Master/ Bachelor’s Degree in social work, rural development or any relevant field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience of working in a similar position.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good negotiation skills and a good team player
- Very good communication skills in written and spoken English and Nepali
- Ability to work independently and with a solution oriented attitude
- Sound computer skills in MS Office, MS Excel and typing skills in both English and Nepali
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Build and maintains effective relationship with team, colleagues and members.
- Able to integrate values of CarNetNepal with the specific job s/he performs.
- Have positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable children and family
- Have high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident.
- Willing to travel frequently to the project site and stay in the field if necessary.
- Having a valid driving license
